Tatou Social Supermarket Anniversary

April the 11th marks 12 months since we opened our very first South Auckland Social Supermarket!

What an incredible journey it has been!

In just one year, our Social Supermarket has supported 1,581 whānau and helped feed over 6,000 people!

Our Social Supermarket is more than just shelves and food. It is a place of whānau-centered support and empowerment.

It is about helping families learn new skills, make informed decisions, and access food that reflects their cultural values and personal preferences.

We are restoring dignity, offering choice, and walking alongside whānau as they take steps toward greater independence and well-being.

In addition to the Social Supermarket, our Emergency Food Relief Programme continued to provide vital support, reaching 962 families (over 4,153 people) who received essential food assistance in times of need.

That’s over 10,000 lives impacted through food support alone! This is an achievement we’re truly proud of.

We would not be able to do this mahi without our supporters:

A massive thank you to our incredible staff for their hard work and dedication, our incredible volunteers, and our Board for their unwavering support and guidance.

We are looking forward to another year of empowering our community, one family at a time.
