Supporter Story: Securing a Social Supermarket for our community

‍ 1 in 4 children are going hungry often or sometimes. Families in our community are doing everything they can to provide for their children.

Māngere Budgeting Services Trust had the opportunity to open a social supermarket that would bring crucial support when families need it most.

‘A bequest from a member of our community was pivotal in our decision to continue operating Tātou Social Supermarket’ says CEO Lara Dolan. A bequest has effectively paid for staff to run the social supermarket for three years. Helping hundreds of families access immediate support and financial mentoring for long term resilience.

To make your bequest in your Will to Mangere Budgeting Services Trust you don’t even need to change your existing Will.

Simply write a Codicil and attach it to your Will as an amendment. We have included a codicil in the link below you can print and fill out to attach or pick one up at our offices.

What form could your bequest take?

Amount – a specific donation or a percentage of your estate

Asset – an item such as property, investments, jewellery or life insurance policy

Residual – what is left after taking care of your loved ones and financial matters

lt is simple but for your peace of mind that your Will distributes your estate the way you want you may want to seek professional advice from a lawyer or a Will Services provider such as Public Trust
