When Lucy first came to Māngere Budgeting Services Trust, she felt completely overwhelmed by debt and unable to keep up with her repayments. She was worried she would not have enough money for her next payment and felt she could no longer provide adequately for her family.
Lucy felt stuck, stressed, and uncertain about her financial future.
Noel, one of our Financial Mentors, worked alongside Lucy to unpack her financial situation step by step.
With the help of budgeting, counselling and using recipes and support available through the Tātou Social Supermarket Lucy was able to meet the immediate needs of her family as well as learn new skills.
Lucy regained a sense of control and hope.
